The makers of "Udta Punjab" have released its trailer, starring Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh. After impressive posters, the trailer of the Abhishek Chaubey's directorial looks gripping.
In "Udta Punjab," all the actors seem to have done a brilliant job with challenging roles. Alia plays a Bihari migrant who comes to Punjab in search of work but ends up becoming a victim of drug trafficking. Her de-glam look and attempted accent deserve a big clap.
Shahid plays spoilt rockstar Tommy Singh who gets involved in a drug-related controversy. Kareena plays Dr Preet Sahani, who has sacrificed her easygoing life to move to Punjab to tackle the drug menace, while Punjabi star Diljit plays a cop.
Shahid and Alia have done a brilliant job in a never-seen avatar, as is apparent from the trailer. Shahid has impressed moviegoers with his portrayal of a drug-addicted rockstar, while Alia surprises with another amazing performance. Kareena and Diljit seem to have done justice to their respective characters as well.
The trailer was launched on Saturday evening in Mumbai. The lead cast of "Udta Punjab" attended the trailer launch wearing a black T-shirt with a tagline "Drugs Di Maa Di." The star attraction of the event was ex-flames Kareena and Shahid sharing the stage, along with Alia and Diljit.
"Udta Punjab" revolves around the increasing problem of drug abuse in Punjab. Scheduled to be released on June 17, "Udta Punjab" has now raised moviegoers' expectations with its trailer.
