B-Town's alleged couple Katrina Kaif-Ranbir Kapoor have always shied away from media glare, and so being on social media would naturally mean business for them.
After RK joined Twitter in January, rumoured girlfriend Katrina followed in his footsteps making her debut on the micro-blogging site, an extensively-reported affair.
While the Kapoor scion entered the world of 140 characters to promote a tech brand he endorses, Katrina will only be posting about the line of cosmetics for which she is the face.
While Sonam Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are regulars at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, it's a first for the "Bang Bang" actress. And so, reaching out to fans via social media made sense.
However, since her handle has been named @katrinaatcannes, it can be deduced she's on the site until the film festival is concluded. There's been no official announcement regarding her term on this platform yet.
Both Sonam and Katrina bonded pretty well at an event held in Mumbai, and later engaged in an online conversation for their followers to see.
"Such a fun day with the gorgeous @sonamakapoor at the @LOrealParisIn press conference! #CantWaitForCannes," Kaif posted. Meanwhile Sonam welcomed her on Twitter writing, "Had a blast sharing the stage with the lovely @katrinaatcannes. See you at Cannes :) PS welcome to Twitter."
Interestingly, Ranbir was on 6 social media platforms -- Facebook, Twitter, Vine, Snapchat, Tumblr, Instagram – for 6 hours, but his presence didn't make a massive impact.
In other news, the suave actor will be next seen in Anurag Kashyap's "Bombay Velvet" alongside Anushka Sharma and Anurag Basu's "Jagga Jasoos". Whereas, Katrina has been relentlessly shooting for Abhishek Kapoor's "Fitoor" with Aditya Roy Kapur, and has Kabir Khan's "Phantom" lined up for release.
