Toyota Kirloskar Motor's Vios sedan has been spied once again while undergoing some testing on Indian roads, suggesting that the work on the model is progressing rapidly. The Vios sedan has been rumoured for the Indian market for quite a long time.

Although Toyota has not spilled beans on the launch of the sedan in the country, the repeated sighting of the Vios sedan on the Indian roads tell us that the launch is on the cards. The latest set of spy shots of Vios comes from PowerDrift and according to words around the web, Vios could be launched in the country in 2017. In the images, a white-colour donned Vios sedan is seen without any hint of camouflage.

In India, if launched, Vios is expected to be powered by a 1.6-litre petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel engine. It measures 4,410mm in length, 1,700mm in width and 1,475mm in height, and has a large wheelbase of 2,550mm. When launched, Vios will take on the likes of Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.

The sedan would be imported from Thailand as completely knocked-down units (CKD) and will be assembled at Toyota India's manufacturing facility in Bengaluru. Vios is likely to come equipped with safety features such as anti-lock brake system (ABS) and dual front airbags as standard. Other expected features include touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, leather upholstery and start-stop button.
