Almost two-and-a-half years since Yash's Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups was announced, the trailer for the movie, starring Yash, was unveiled at an event in Bangalore on August 8, 2026. In a nutshell, the trailer offers a glimpse into a dark and dangerous world, with a combination of crime, action and romance drama. Packed with intense action, violence and an intriguing storyline, the trailer presents Yash in a ruthless avatar, which is mind-blowing.

Set against the backdrop of coastal Goa during a period of political and social upheaval, Toxic follows Raya, a powerful gangster who rises through the criminal underworld by building a vast empire. As Portuguese colonial rule begins to fade, the changing landscape creates fertile ground for crime and smuggling, allowing powerful syndicates to flourish.
The trailer also reveals that the actor is playing more than one role, possibly a double role. Yash's violent world sets the tone and will grip the audience.

Yash is seen in a bold bare-body scene. Toxic delves deeper into the personal cost of power, with betrayal, paranoia and complicated relationships becoming increasingly important as Raya's empire expands.

The trailer also offers glimpses of the film's ensemble cast, including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. While the exact nature of their characters and their relationships with Yash's protagonist haven't been revealed much, they also appear to be connected in some way to the criminal world. The women appear to have significant roles in shaping Raya's journey.

After watching Toxic's trailer, fans started flooding the internet with comparisons between Yash's character in Toxic and Ranbir Kapoor's character in Animal. Sharing side-by-side pictures of the two actors' bare-body scenes from the films.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is jointly produced by Venkat K Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, respectively. The film was officially announced in December 2023 under the tentative title Yash 19, marking the actor's 19th film as a leading star. The official title Toxic was revealed shortly afterwards.
The film was shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with principal photography taking place across Bengaluru, Mumbai, Goa, Thoothukudi and Jaipur. Mounted on a massive scale, Toxic has been generating significant anticipation, particularly because it marks Yash's first theatrical release after KGF: Chapter 2.
After multiple delays, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is finally scheduled to arrive in theatres worldwide on August 26, 2026.
