Toronto International Film Festival, fall's biggest film festival, is back with its 40th edition. And the organisers have announced the first line-up of films premiering in the Galas and Special Presentations sections of the festival.

Looking at the first list of contenders, one can already imagine the excitement building up. It's only time before we know what big holds up in other sections of the festival.

Toronto International Film Festival, which is set to kick off on 10 September, 2015 will roll up the curtains with "Demolition" starring Jake Gyllenhaal. This opening-night film by Jean-Marc Vallée, narrates the story of a successful investment banker who struggles after losing his wife in a tragic car crash.

The 15 Galas and 34 Special Presentations boast of big names like Ridley Scott ("The Martian"), Deepa Mehta ("Beeba Boys"), Brian Helgeland ("Legend"), Charlie Kaufman and Duke Johnson ("Anomalisa"), Cary Fukunaga ("Beasts of No Nation"), Tom Hooper ("The Danish Girl"), Hany Abu-Assad ("The Idol"), Meghna Gulzar ("Guilty"), Terence Davies ("Sunset Song") and Michael Moore ("Where to Invade Next"), among others.

A ticket to Toronto International Film Festival will ensure you get to catch your favourite stars portraying the most challenging roles. Some of the most-anticipated ones include Helen Mirren ("Trumbo" and "Eye in the Sky"), Kate Winslet ("The Dressmaker"), Emma Watson ("Colonia"), Ben Foster ("The Program") and Eddie Redmayne ("The Danish Girl"), among others.
