New Delhi, Aug 15 (ANI): Security was beefed up in New Delhi on Friday as thousands of police and paramilitary personnel kept a strict vigil to thwart any possible threats on 68th Independence Day. Police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed at the airport, market places, railway stations, inter-state bus terminals and metro stations in major Indian cities. Marking 67 years of independence, Modi unfurled the national tricolour flag and delivered his first speech at the historic podium from the ramparts of the Red Fort in New Delhi. Authorities are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that security remains watertight throughout the country.
