It has been officially revealed that "Thor 3" will be called "Thor: Raganrok".
A new report has revealed that if the title of the film is anything to go by then Thor, Loki and Odin could all die in this one. Apparently, Raganrok refers to series of events, which result in the death of major characters who have been living in Asgard.
According to Norse Mythology, the death of Thor, Odin, Loki and others take place after the world gets submerged in water, as reported by Movie Pilot. A new world surfaces and from there the formation of human race begins. It is not certain whether these happenings will take place in the movie or not. However, if the makers of the franchise plan to stick to mythology, it will be a "depressing" end for the trilogy, reports Amy Martin of Movie Pilot.
Chris Hemsoworth, who plays Thor, also said in one of his previous interviews that "end of all things" could be an interesting path to take.
"In the comic book, the sort of end of days, Armageddon aspect is probably the direction in which it will all head in. Where it's sort of the end of all things and there's obviously no script or anything when I read the comic books; I thought it was an interesting way to go," he told Screen Rant.
Moreover, a whole new series of Thor can be born with a fresh crop of actors. "Thor 3" is set for 2017 release and the script of the film is yet to be locked. There are many speculations as to what can happen in Asgrad, especially now that it is under Loki's rule. He is the one who has soul gems and infinity gauntlet in his safeguard. Thor is expected to return to Asgrad, to save it from Loki's thunder.
Meanwhile, it has also been speculated that Thor could romance Amora-The Enchantress instead of Jane Foster in "Thor 3". In the comic book, Amora comes to Asgrad to create havoc. She shares a love-hate relationship with Thor. However, later she becomes the reason for Thor and Jane Foster's break-up. She has been explained as "Thor's catwoman".
These are just conjectures and the makers have not yet revealed anything concrete.
