Mammootty's comedy family entertainer Thoppil Joppan, which released on October 7, has performed well all over the globe. Despite locking horns against Mohanlal's action thriller Pulimurugan, the Johny Antony-directorial has become a hit within two months of its release at the worldwide box office.
According to trade analysts, the final collection of the Mammootty-starrer from Indian and overseas market is approximately Rs 22 crore with a gross collection of Rs 15.50 crore from Kerala alone. However, the makers haven't announced the official collection figure yet.
If the figures are to be believed, the total earning of Thoppil Joppan cannot to compared to what Mohanlal-starrer, released on the same date, has made so far. Latest reports suggest that that Pulimurugan has made a business of Rs 125.80 crore from worldwide box office till date after being opened to fabulous response from the audience.
Meanwhile, the movies of big Ms -- Mammootty and Mohanlal -- were again set to pit against each other in December. However, the makers of the Mammootty-starrer The Great Father have postponed the release date to January 27. Mohanlal, who is basking in the success of Vysakh's directorial venture Pulimurugan, is now awaiting the release of Jibu Jacob's family entertainer Munthirivallikal Thalirkumbol, scheduled to hit the screens on December 22.
