Is this the money that is at stake if Shah Rukh Khan's 'Raees' clashes with 'Kaabil' and 'Baadshaho'?

Shah Rukh Khan's "Raees" clashing with "Kaabil" and "Baadshaho" on Jan. 26, 2017 has become a conversation-starter of sorts. Trade experts, after analysing what could be the consequences of this major box office war, gave interesting insights on the kind of money that's on stake.

It's not good news if three films decide to arrive on the same day, cautions trade analyst Akshaye Rathi. There's a lot of money at stake, he told BollywoodLife, explaining the dynamics of the battle.

However, he is sure that one of the three will move. "Raees" is done and dusted, it's been a few days since Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam have begun shooting for "Kaabil," and Ajay Devgn's "Baadshaho" is in pre-production stage. Therefore, it's too early to say that the films will really be at loggerheads. 

During his informative chat with the web portal, Akshay laid out the probable budget the films are being made on. "I am sure Kaabil won't cost anything less than Rs 30 crore – the actual cost of production, considering that Hrithik is an in-house hero and he won't charge any upfront fees. I am sure Baadshaho, from what I have heard, won't cost less than Rs 60-70 crore and Raees is another film which won't cost less than another Rs 50-60 crore. So, approximately Rs 200 crore of the industry's money is at stake on January 26, 2017 as of now. But I am dead sure, one of them will move," he added.

Meanwhile, Amul Mohan has a bigger number in mind. He said that roughly Rs. 250 to 300 crore is at stake. "All these three films are Rs 100 crore plus movies individually in terms of the star value, branding, cost of production and marketing," he further elaborated adding that these are big films and need at least a week to themselves.
