Filmmaker Karan Johar is known to be a kind-hearted person in Bollywood, and it looks like he intends to maintain his new-found friendship with actor Salman Khan.

Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty's debut film "Hero" recently released a mellow heart-break song 'Yaada Teriyaan', which was reportedly given by Karan.

Apparently, director Nikhil Advani was struggling to find an appropriate song and this is when KJo asked him to listen to the track, which he wasn't planning to use in any of his upcoming films.

The makers loved the song and Salman then recommended Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's name for it.

"We were looking high and low for a slow separation song but weren't finding it. A couple of months ago Nikhil (Advani, director) and I were talking about it in Karan's office. That's when Karan said he had a song which he wouldn't be using in the immediate use and offered it to us," CCO Amar Buatala told DNA.

"He asked us to listen to it. When we heard we fell in love with it. And when Salman heard it he recommended that we get Rahat Fateh Ali to sing it," he added.

Advani thanked Karan on social media as well. "A big thank you needs to be said to @karanjohar for giving us the song and Kumaar for just about everything," he tweeted.

The song 'Yaada Teriyaan', which was released on 20 August, has been set for the situation when Athiya and Sooraj's characters are separated. The track has been shot in India and Romania.

Will it touch the audience's heart the same way Salman's song 'Main Hoon Hero Tera' did? Only time will tell. But, Salman and Karan's contribution to the film has boosted Sooraj and Athiya's career in the initial phase itself.
