There were reports that Akshay Kumar will make a special appearance in "Dishoom," but then the actor refuted such reports. The recent buzz is that the "Khiladi" Kumar will make a special entry as a gay character and the song from "Desi Boyz" will be played in the background.

Akshay's entry will be at a point when John Abraham and Varun Dhawan were seen in orange shorts in the trailer, according to SpotboyE. "Akshay hasn't made it loud. It's nothing like the stereotypical gays shows in other Hindi films. He's such a sport. When you look at him first, you can't say he's gay. But his swagger gives it away -- and that's something he will draw plenty of applause for," a source told the web portal.

However, earlier Akshay had denied being part of the Rohit Dhawan directorial. If rumours of him playing a gay character in the film are indeed true, then this will be the first time that Akshay will appear onscreen as a homosexual. The actor has always impressed his fans with action-filled roles, but this character may prove to be a pleasant change. Also, after "Dostana" and "Desi Boyz," John and Akshay will share screen space.

Directed by Rohit Dhawan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, "Dishoom" also features Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri and Saqib Saleem. The film is reportedly the remake of a Malayalam film titled "Mumbai Police" and it is rumoured to have some never-seen-before action stunts.

Scheduled to be released on July 29, the trailer of the action drama has already garnered appreciation from all quarters. On the other hand, Akshay is busy promoting his latest release, "Housefull 3." The comedy flick, which also features Jacqueline, Nargis Fakhri, Lisa Haydon, Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh, is doing well at the box office.
