As the smartphones are getting bigger (and better?), consumers no longer have the choice for small-screen phones in the market. The only way to get a smaller phone is by sacrificing the smart features of the phone and going with a feature phone. But this company is balancing the demand for smaller smartphones without giving up on the "smart" elements.

In fact, this China-based company has gone a step ahead and introduced the world's smallest 4G-compatible smartphone. Dubbed Jelly, this smartphone is so small it can easily fit into the coin pocket of your pants. The company behind the phone is Unihertz, which is based in Shanghai and has more than 10 years of experience in cell phone designing and manufacturing, according to its profile.

Jelly is available as a part of a Kickstarter project, which makes the phone available to anyone who orders it no matter which part of the world. The shipping of the miniature smartphone is expected to begin in August.

The Kickstarter project for Jelly surpassed its pledged goal of $30,000 in no time. Jelly smartphone is a basic smartphone with low-end specs, and there's also another high-end variant called Jelly Pro, which obviously costs a little extra. As a part of the early bird offer, buyers can place an order for Jelly for $79 (approx. Rs. 5,000) and the Jelly Pro comes with a price tag of $95 (around Rs. 6,000).

As for the specifications of Jelly and Jelly Pro, you'll be surprised to see how these phones have a good value for money.

Jelly smartphone measures 3.6-inch in height and it is 1.7-inch wide. There's a 2.45-inch display with 240x432 pixels screen resolution. It is powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core chipset, Android 7.0 Nougat, and a 950mAh battery, which the company claims can last up to 3 days with average use and up to 7 days on standby.

To make things interesting, Jelly comes with an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 2MP front snapper. It supports 4G LTE, FDD-LTE Band, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, G-sensor, Gyroscope and dual nano SIM cards.

In case you're wondering, the only difference between Jelly and Jelly Pro is that the former comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage and the latter has 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage. There's a dedicated microSD card slot, which can add 256GB storage to the phone, but we are highly skeptical of the phone's performance after that.

Those who order the Jelly or Jelly Pro on Kickstarter for $79 and $95, respectively, can spend extra $9 for a battery and $10 for an armband to safely dock your Jelly smartphones.
