Milan Fashion Week Spring Summer 2017 has arrived with glitz, glamour, a string of fashion trends and quite a few Super Tuscan pit-stops. Gucci, Fendi and Prada are among the celebrated brands that will be showing their wares through Tuesday.

The first day of the week-long show began with a supremely dramatic line presented by Gucci's Alessandro Michele. In his third year of being the creative director of the luxury label, this Italian designer clearly didn't hold himself back while creating some of the most indulgent pieces of clothing. Clad in chiffon gowns, floppy hats and animal-printed jackets, models walked down the most creatively lit-up runway, soaked in crimson light.

Avant-garde German designer Philipp Plein took it a few levels up with his candy-land themed show that had a few models presenting his best creations while seated at an extravagant carousel. Rest walked the fairytale-esque ramp in thigh-high double-slit dresses and metal-studded jackets, which were accessorised with thick gold chains and mirrored aviators.

Roberto Cavalli, Alberta Ferretti and Fausto Puglisi were the other presenters on Day 1 at the Milan Fashion Week SS17.
