Vijay's "Theri" teaser has created history on YouTube. The video-clip, which was released at 12 am on 5 February, has become the most-liked Tamil teaser on YouTube.

In less than 24 hours, the "Theri" teaser has amassed over 15 lakh hits and has got over 1.41 lakh likes for its official video-clip. This is the highest likes that a Kollywood movie teaser has got in recent years.

The teaser has also received over 30,000 dislikes on YouTube. It has to be noted that the video has got such a stupendous response, despite it being removed for over an hour due to copy right issues.

The previous best was 1.4 lakh set by the teaser of Ajith's "Vedalam", which had received close to 48,000 dislikes on its official YouTube page. In fact, the short clip had garnered 91,000 likes in just 24 hours. Till date, the teaser has got over 62 lakh hits on YouTube.

It has to be noted that "Vedalam" teaser had broken the record of Vijay's "Puli", which received over 77,000 likes and 24,000 dislikes and got more than 77 lakh hits. Once again, it is a teaser from Vijay's film that has set a new benchmark on YouTube.

The teaser of Vijay's "Theri" has taken the audience by storm. Vijay has thrilled the viewers with his electrifying screen presence and multiple dimensional characters. It is a 50-second video that has been well-edited by Anthony and GV Prakash's background score takes the clip to a different level.

The underlining part of the story is that the teaser has managed to impress the audience without giving away anything about the storyline.

"Theri" is an action-thriller, in which Vijay plays the role of a cop. Samantha and Amy Jackson are the female leads in the flick, written and directed by Atlee Kumar and produced by Kalaipuli S Dhanu.
