There are reports doing the rounds that Ilayathalapathy Vijay will be donating a huge amount for the Chennai flood victims.

Ajith helps Chennai flood victims without much publicity

As per the buzz, "Theri" star Vijay is planning to donate Rs 5 crore for the victims. Some leading daily websites have said that he wants the money to be used for the rehabilitation and relief work but it is not clear whether he will handover the cheque to Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa or some other organisations.

However, neither Vijay nor his manager has confirmed about his donation plans. Hence, there are still doubts whether it is merely a fan-created speculation or is there some truth to the story. If it is true, he will be the biggest donor for the flood-victims in Chennai as nobody apart from Raghava Lawrence has made a crore or above contribution so far.

However, his Shoba Kalyana Mandapam in Saligramam has placed lots of people, and is providing food for the victims the last couple of days.

Vijay has often contributed to charities, and stood for the weaker sections of the society.

Currently, Vijay is busy with his forthcoming movie "Theri", which is written and directed by Atlee Kumar. The Tamil movie has completed the major part of shooting and the remaining portion was expected to be done by this month. But plans seem to have changed following heavy rain and massive flood in Chennai.

Thousands of people have been displaced and over 270 people have died due to the deadly flood in Chennai.

Coming to "Theri", the movie, which has Samantha and Amy Jackson in the female lead, will hit the screens next year. It is an action-packed commercial entertainer with lots of emotion. The film is produced by Kalaipuli S Dhanu.
