Home-made Thanksgiving dishes filled the houses as the world came together to celebrate the traditional holiday with family and friends. The aroma of the fried turkey filled homes of celebrities as they welcomed the holiday season. While a few spent a quite holiday with just family, many celebrities took to social media to share what they were up to this year.

- Taylor Swift:

The Bad Blood singer has had a memorable Thanksgiving as she spent her holiday with her girl squad. Sharing pictures on Instagram, Swift and friends were seen celebrating the tradition in her beachfront Rhode Island mansion. The singer had a fun piggy back ride, where supermodel Lily Donaldson rode her around the beach shore, joined the league of celebrities of mannequin challenges and relished some delicious Thanksgiving dinner.

- Selena Gomez:

Selena Gomez chose the occasion of Thanksgiving to break her social media silence. The 24-year-old singer was on a social media sabbatical that lasted 14 weeks as she was focusing on her mental fitness. Sharing a picture, she said that this year has been the hardest yet most rewarding one yet. "I've finally fought the fight of not 'being enough'. I have only wanted to reflect the love you guys have given me for years and show how important it is to take care of you," she shared.

- Kim Kardashians and Kylie Jenner:

This Thanksgivings, the Kardashians couldn't spend the holiday together. With Kanye West hospitalized for sleep deprivation and exhaustion-related ailments, Kim Kardashian spent the traditional holiday with West in the hospital. Kylie Jenner was seen taking up the holiday duties as she hosted the Thanksgiving dinner on behalf of the Kardashian-Jenner family. The guest list included Kris Jenner, Caitlyn Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian and Tyga. The dinner table was decked up in white and gold décor with a delicious spread set up for attendees.

- Khloe Kardashian:

Missing at the gathering, Khloe Kardashian took to her website to share her Thanksgiving message. Addressing her fans, she said, "This year, I'm overly thankful for my family. We've been through a ton of trials and tribulations mixed with blessings on blessings on blessings. Without my crazy, chaotic, amazing family, I'm not sure how I could have gone through some of the things that I was tested with this year. I'm sure we say we are all thankful for our families."

- Ellen DeGeneres:

Ellen DeGeneres started her Thanksgiving early this year with the prestigious Presidential Medal of Freedom. The Ellen DeGeneres Show host wished her Twitter followers on the occasion and shared a picture of her beautiful wife, Portia de Rossi, and her dogs on Instagram. Sharing the adorable picture, she said, "Happy Thanksgiving! Here's a photo of some of the things I'm most thankful for."

- Jennifer Lopez:

Snuggled up in her bed, seems like the Ain't Your Mama singer spent the holiday feasting on some delicious Thanksgiving dishes. Sharing a picture, JLo is seen sporting a printed dress and suffering from "food coma".

Apart from these, many celebrities shared pictures of the things or rather people they were thankful for this Thanksgiving. These included Gwyneth Paltrow, Sarah Jessica Parker, Bruno Mars, Madonna and Gigi Hadid.
