Kollywood star Vijay has finally wrapped up his shooting of the upcoming movie Sarkar. After the demise of DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi, the 44-year-old star landed in Chennai from Las Vegas on Monday and headed straight to Anna Memorial in Marina Beach to pay his final respects.
According to reports, Vijay had a 22-hour flight and reached Chennai at around 4 pm. The actor was busy shooting for Sarkar in Las Vegas when Karunanidhi had passed away on August 7. The videos and the photos of his visit have now gone viral.
Before heading to the US, Thalapathy had visited Kauvery Hospital and met Karunanidhi's family. Since Vijay was not in India at the time of Karunanidhi's death, his wife Sangeetha had paid homage on behalf of his family.
The Sarkar unit showed their respect to the DMK supremo by cancelling the shoot in the US. AR Murugadoss-directorial Sarkar is an action thriller which reportedly tells the story of an NRI, who fights against governance by running a parallel government for the welfare of the society.

Keerthy Suresh is romancing Vijay, while Varalaxmi Sarathkumar will be seen in a pivotal role. Arjun Sarja, Prem Kumar, Yogi Babu and others are part of the supporting cast. The last schedule of the shooting will reportedly start in Chennai.
M Karunanidhi, one of the biggest politicians of Tamil Nadu, passed away due to age-related ailments. His death has become an irreplaceable loss to the state.
