Ajith Kumar starrer "Thala 56" will hit screens for Diwali, and the news has now been confirmed by producer AM Rathnam himself.

The producer said that "Thala 56" will be a Diwali treat for Ajith's fans. The team is putting every effort to release the movie on time and the shooting is taking place at a rapid pace.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, AM Rathnam said that the titles of Ajith's films have good values, due to which they are taking time to finalise and announce the same. The producer claims that "Thala 56" is an out-and-out commercial movie and not just a brother-sister sentimental film.

"The film has a new genre, something beyond the brother-sister theme one usually sees. When I say commercial, it has action, romance, humor, sentiment and good music, to satisfy every type of audiences" Deccan Chronicle quoted the producer as saying.

The first schedule of "Thala 56" in Chennai has been completed, in which Ajith, Lakshmi Menon and Shruti Haasan took part and the team will now travel to Kolkata for its next schedule. The makers have planned to go abroad to shoot the songs but the locations have not been finalised yet.

"Thala 56" is the producer's third flick with Ajith in a row, who reportedly plays the role of a taxi driver in the film. The duo has previously worked in "Arrambam" and "Yennai Arindhaal" and both the movies were decent commercial hits. Now the makers want the latest film to be bigger than their previous flicks.

The movie is directed by Siruthai Siva, who will be directing Ajith for the second time after "Veeram". The movie has Anirudh Ravichander's music.
