Tata Motors' recently launched Zest sedan is reportedly getting good response from the auto lovers in the country.

We have earlier reported that the diesel Zest AMT is witnessing a huge demand and now a new report reveals that the company has received more than 10,000 bookings within three weeks of Zest's entry into the market.

Tata Zest, India's most affordable diesel AMT was launched on 12 August. Although there were apprehensions about the success of Zest in the country, as the car came after Tata stayed away from the market for a considerable time, emerging reports suggest that Tata could position its newest offering perfectly.

A recent MotorBeam report claims that the company has garnered over 10,000 bookings for Zest in the country and the demand for the diesel AMT is still high.

The report also notes that the increasing demand for the Zest sedan could lead to an extended waiting period of upto four months.

Zest, a car based on Tata Motors' "DesigNext, DriveNext, ConnectNext" philosophy is offered in both diesel and petrol engine options. While the petrol model is powered by turbocharged 1.2-liter Revotron engine, which is tuned to produce a 90 PS (88.73 bhp) of power and 140 Nm of torque, the diesel Zest model comes with 1.3-litre Multijet motor, that is capable of churning out 88.8 bhp of power and 200Nm torque.

Only the Zest XMA diesel model comes coupled to Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) and other diesel variants get a five-speed manual transmission.
