Under the hood, the compact SUV is likely to get a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The transmission in the model is likely to be taken care of by six-speed AMT box. As for features, Nexon is expected to get keyless entry, push start/stop button, reverse-parking camera and a 6.5-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

Expected to be pitted against Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV 300, the Nexon is built on the heavily modified Tata X1 platform of the Indica.
