It looks like Tata Motors' Kite 5 compact sedan launch has almost been confirmed as the emerging reports suggest that the model will see the light of the day during the festive season of this year. An Oncars.in report said the Kite 5, which will rival Maruti Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Volkswagen Ameo and Ford Figo Aspire in the domestic market, will be launched in November.

Tata Kite 5, the compact sedan based on Tiago hatchback, is currently in its testing phase in the country. The model is expected to hit the assembly lines shortly after finishing the testing. Tata showcased the Kite 5 at the Auto Expo 2016. Tata Kite 5 is expected to be launched after the Hexa in India.

To be offered in both petrol and diesel options in India, the Kite 5 will come powered by 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol and 1.05-litre, three-cylinder diesel motors. While the 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine will churn out 83.8bhp of power at 6,000rpm and 114Nm of torque at 3,500rpm, the all-new 1.05-litre, three-cylinder turbo-charged diesel engine will develop 69bhp of power and 140Nm of torque. Both engines will be available with multi-drive modes — Eco and City.

Although other details about the variants and colours of the Kite 5 are unavailable now, a recent set of spy images showed the model in Orange body shade. It was reported earlier that Tata is considering three names — Canvas, Dribble and Ingrid — for the upcoming Kite 5 compact sedan.
