Tata Motors appears to be gearing up for its next launch in the country as latest reports indicate that the Hexa MPV will hit the market in July. A report of Oncars.in, citing sources close to the development, reveals that the launch of Hexa has been scheduled for July. However, the report did not divulge the exact date of the launch.

The Hexa has already made several appearances on the internet in its disguised and revealed forms. The model, which is currently in its testing phase in the country, had made its India debut at the Auto Expo 2016, among the future car line-up of the company. The Hexa, essentially the new avatar of the Aria, measures 4,764 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width and 1,780 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,850 mm.

At the heart of the new Hexa is a 2.2 litre four-cylinder VARICOR diesel engine, which is tuned to generate 154bhp of power at 4,000rpm and 400Nm of torque at 1,700 to 2,700rpm. The engine comes mated to either a 6-speed automatic transmission or 6-speed manual transmission. It will rival Toyota Innova Crysta and Renault Lodgy in India and is expected to be priced between Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 15 lakh.

It is likely to come packed with features like a 5-inch TFT touchscreen infotainment system from Harman, compatible with USB, iPod, SD card, Aux and Bluetooth audio. On the safety front, it will get six airbags, and anti-lock brake system (ABS) with electronic brake distribution (EBD).
