Bollywood and television actor Vishal Thakkar has been booked for allegedly raping a television actress.

A television actress has filed a case against the "Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltaah Chashma" actor with the Charkop Police in Kandivali.

The case was registered against the actor under IPC sections 376 (rape), 420 (cheating), 323, 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 506 (criminal intimidation), Charkop police station's senior inspector Ramchandra Gaikwad told Press Trust of India.

The victim, who has worked in several television serials, in her complaint said that the accused raped her in his house, police said. She also alleged that after raping her Vishal physically assaulted her over a small issue, Mid-Day reported.

She further added that they were in a live-in relationship for few months.

According to reports, the actor has not been arrested.

Vishal is known for his role in Sanjay Dutt's film "Munna Bhai MBBS". He has also worked in films, including "Tango Charlie" and "Chandi Bar". He has also worked in television serials, including "Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah", " Geet Hui Sabse Parayi", " Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil" and others.
