The Tamil Nadu police have arrested two men on charge of forcing a four-year-old boy to drink alcohol in Tiruvannamalai district. The police swung into action after the video of the men's act went viral on social media.

In the disturbing video the boy is seen being forced to drink by a group of young people, including his maternal uncle Murugan. It shows the boy being asked to eat nuts from a plastic bag and being forced to drink alcohol from a plastic cup even after he said 'no' once by waving his hands.

The video, which is reportedly recorded a week ago on 30 June, was widely circulated via mobile messaging app Whatsapp before it was uploaded on social media websites including Facebook.

However, after the video went viral, the Tiruvannamalai police reportedly arrested two men, including 23-year-old Elumalai and 22-year-old Premkumar, charging case against them under section 25 (penalty for giving intoxicating liquor or narcotic drug or psychotropic substance to juvenile or child) of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2000.

"We formed three special teams to trace the youth. We saw the vehicle registration number in the video (TN 25 AJ 8209) and traced it to Elumalai of Mel Cholankuppam village in Kadaladi police station limits," Tiruvannamalai Superintendent of Police R Ponni told The New Indian Express.

The police have also started searching for four others seen in the video including Rajaram, Murugan and Manikandan.
