The Directorate of Government Examinations Tamil Nadu is set to declare the SSLC (Class 10) board exam results today, May 19, at around 11 am. Students who appeared in the exams this year can check their marks online on the official website of the board.

Here's how you can check your marks online:

  • Log on to the official results website -- tnresults.nic.in
  • Click on the results link and select Class 10 results link
  • Enter the required details such as date of birth and registration number
  • Click on submit
  • You will then get access to your results, and you can download and take a printout of the same.

This year, students will not be ranked on state and district level as it is said to have promoted an unhealthy competition among schools and students.

"Examinations and marks are incidental in the journey of education and are not the ultimate destination. While exams are a good method to assess the competitive spirit of students within the classroom, we saw that over the last few years, it is being misused and has led to a lot of concerns," The Hindu quoted school education secretary T Udhayachandran as saying.

The Tamil Nadu School Education Department announced the results of the Class 12 board exams on May 12. The Class 12 exams for Arts, Science and Commerce stream were conducted in March.
