Geneva, June 26 (ANI): Thousands of Swiss fans cheered their national team which beat Honduras 3-0 to make it to the round of sixteen on Wednesday. About 7,000 Swiss fans had gathered in a fan-zone in Geneva to watch the national soccer team, the Nati play. Dressed in red, or with Swiss flags on their faces, the fans started to believe their team could make it, despite their heavy defeat 5-2 against France last Friday, after Xherdan Shaqiri scored the first goal in the sixth minute. There were loud cheers when the Bayern Munich star struck again on the half hour. Shaqiri scored in the second half to complete the tournament's second hat-trick following Thomas Mueller's effort against Portugal. The venue erupted in jubilation as Shaqiri erased memories of the humiliating defeat against France, as well as that of Nati's last match against Honduras four years ago.
