The year 2015 generated a lot of interest in wearables, and new companies are always jumping on board with their smartwatches or fitness trackers. India-based tablet manufacturer Swipe is the latest to join the wearables segment in India, with the launch of its affordable FBand fitness tracker. Just like other fitness trackers in the market, like Mi Band, Jawbone UP and FitBit, FBand tracks the wearer's steps, sleep and alerts about any incoming calls.

If your New Year resolution is to stay fit (probably like last year), FBand can be a worthy companion to help you achieve your goals. It has a tiny circular display, which shows basic statistics. However, the FBand mobile app will give you detailed information on all your activities, including sleep records.

FBand has sensors to track your daily step count, burnt calories and sleep. The tracker calculates your sleep quality and offers suggestions to improve it, too! FBand pairs with your smartphone via Bluetooth, which establishes a connection between the two devices to notify you of any incoming calls.

FBand has a 55mAh battery, which the company claims is good for seven days before you need another charge.

In terms of design, FBand has a bit of a fancy look with its spotted colourful bands. Available in blue and red hues, FBand will begin selling in India exclusively on Snapdeal, starting 7 January. The fitness tracker is priced at Rs 1,499, which is quite reasonable given the specs. To kick off the sales, Swipe is offering a flat Rs 200 discount for the first 100 buyers.

At this price, Swipe FBand competes with Yu Fit band, Misfit Link, Xiaomi Mi Band and others.
