California-based Swipe Technologies has launched Swipe Junior, touted as the world's first smartphone for children, in India.

The new Swipe Junior runs the Android KitKat OS with "Parent-Operated Control System", wherein the elders can keep a tab on who are on the kid's contact list and also control the child's phone internet use, gaming time or any other apps in the phone.

Another noteworthy feature, "App Management System", allows parents to block apps or websites deemed in appropriate to kids. This intuitive application also tracks the behavioural analytics of how children use the device and also know the exact usage time of each and every app.

The phone also comes equipped with a sophisticated geo-positioning control feature to track kids' movement at all time. It also boasts of a Geo-fence feature, wherein parents can designate safe and danger zone. If the child accidently ventures into the predefined danger zone, the phone alerts the parents.

Another notable feature of Swipe Junior is it comes with an SOS emergency system, wherein children, if faced with an impending danger, can alert parents via a one-step procedure.

The company has confirmed that the new Swipe Junior is available on all major online stores such as Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal and Paytm in India for Rs 5,999. It comes in blue and pink colour options.
