After dating for almost five years, Sweden's Prince Carl Philip is set to marry girlfriend and former model Sofia Hellqvist on Saturday, 13 June at 4:30 pm local time [8 pm IST].

The grand wedding will be attended by the members of the royal families of Belgium, Denmark, Japan, the Netherlands, Greece, Norway, the U.K. and Germany, including UK's Earl and Countess of Wessex and Denmark's Queen Margrethe, at the Chapel Royal of the Sveriges Kungahus.

The Duke of Värmland, 35, and his 30-year-old fiancée had their pre-wedding party on the M/S Stockholm yacht on Friday, and the function was also attended by many royals.

After the marriage, the former model will be called Princess Sofia, Duchess of Värmland.

The couple reportedly met for the first time at a restaurant through a few common friends. Since 2011, they have been living together and announced their official engagement on 27 June, 2014.

Controversies in Sofia Hellqvist's Life

Born to Danish father and Swedish mother, Hellqvist moved to New York at the age of 18 to pursue higher studies. After two years, she returned to Sweden to study at the University of Stockholm.

She has worked as a waitress and glamour model, who posed topless for Slitz men's magazine, when she was 20. Her past has often created controversy during her relationship with the Prince, and her tattoos and belly button piercing also made her an "unsuitable" princess at one point of time.

She has also participated in TV reality show Paradise Hotel in 2005, in which she was reportedly caught on camera kissing 41-year-old American porn actress Jenna Jameson.

The soon-to-be-princess is also a yoga instructor and is a volunteer and aid worker in South Africa, Senegal and Ghana.
