Maruti Suzuki Ertiga entered the market in 2012 and within months, the MPV became a fast-selling product for India's largest car maker. The people mover garnered an order for 11,000 units in just five days of its launch.

Three years down the line, Suzuki unveiled the mid-life facelift of the car at the 2015 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS 2015), being held in Gaikindo. The Japanese company also took the opportunity to unveil the Ertiga Crossover concept at the show.

The Ertiga Crossover concept has a more aggressive and rugged design. The front facia is dominated with a large honeycomb black mesh grille. The layout of the grille has similarities with the one in the Swift Sport sold in international markets.

The concept sports black plastic cladding at the lower section of front and rear bumper and sides, extending an off-road appeal. There is a silver garnish around the lower intakes that also house the LED day time running lamp strips.

A newly-designed, 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels steals the show in the side. It is complemented by a set of roof rails. A black plastic garnish above the registration plate and a large single exhaust tip are the notable changes at the rear.

The theme of the interior is the due-tone finish in beige and brown leather. The combination has contrast stitching in steering wheel and seats. The concept has a 50:50 split third row seats, dual airbags and ABS that takes care of safety.

The MPV continues to be powered by the same 1.4-liter K-Series VVT petrol engine producing 94bhp and 130Nm mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Suzuki has not released any details on the production version.
