Surya's forthcoming movie "Masss" has been dogged by controversy after roping in S Thaman to compose a song, while Yuvan Shankar Raja is handling the complete music department in the film.

There are speculations that Yuvan Shankar Raja is upset with the move and the music director is now unwilling to score the background music even though he has composed a couple of songs.

Rumour has it that Surya was not happy with the songs composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and he felt that the energy was missing in the tracks. Thus, he asked director Venkat Prabhu to rope in S Thaman to compose a peppy number.

This irked Yuvan Shankar Raja, who has been a close friend to Venkat Prabhu and composed music for all his films before.

However, clarifying rumours on whether Yuvan Shankar Raja being replaced by S Thaman, the director on Twitter, wrote, "#Yuvan is our #masss music director!!!!!!"
