Actress Jyothika is turning a year older as she celebrates her 38th birthday on Tuesday, October 18. The actress is reportedly spending her day with her family members.
The fans of Jyothika and Suriya are pouring in their wishes on social media sites, especially Twitter. They have been recalling some of her best works and sharing photos of her hit movies. They are also tweeting comments using the hashtag - #HappyBirthdayJyothika.
Jyothika started her acting career in Bollywood film Doli Saja Ke Rakhna, which starred Akshaye Khanna. Unfortunately, the movie failed to work at the box office and she failed to get a break. Looking out for good offers, she turned to Tamil films and entered Kollywood with Ajith Kumar's Vaali, for which she won Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South.
Following the success of Vaali, she got several good offers from which she signed Poovellam Kettuppar opposite her future husband Suriya. However, it is the success of Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Khushi that became a turning point in her career.
In the next few years, she was part of hit films like Mugavaree, Dum Dum Dum and Snegithiye and Thenali, which positioned her as one of the few top actresses of Kollywood. Vikram's Dhool, Suriya's Kaakha Kaakha, Telugu movie Tagore and Rajinikanth's Chandramukhi are some of the big commercial hits of her successful career.
She bid goodbye to acting in 2007 after she married Suriya in 2006. After a long gap, she made her comeback to acting with 36 Vayadhinile, a remake of Malayalam hit movie How Old Are You. Presently, the mother of two children (Diya and Dev) is working on Bramma's feel-good entertainer Magalir Mattum.
