Suriya is getting ready for his next project with Pa Ranjith. The actor will have a challenging role in the forthcoming multilingual movie.

According to reports, Suriya will be seen as a boxer in the as-yet untitled film. The actor, who is known for walking extra miles to do justice to the characters he play in his movies, will be undergoing a training soon.

It is believed that Suriya desires to have the look of a professional boxer, and that he will spend a couple of months preparing for the role. The actor has the long history of putting in his best efforts to get into the skin of the characters.

For instance, in "7aum Arivu," he played the multiple roles of an old man, a middle-aged Bodhi Dharman and a circus artiste, which made it one of the toughest projects for Suriya in the recent years. He had to shed weight for some portions of the film to look younger and gain pounds to look older in the other parts.

The upcoming movie is said to be a hard-hitting one, which will be made in the usual Pa Ranjith style. Meanwhile, the director's latest movie, "Kabali," was released last weekend and opened to mixed reviews.

Nevertheless, "Kabali" has come out with flying colours at the worldwide box office. The movie, which has been made with a budget of Rs. 100 crore, grossed over Rs. 200 crore in its first weekend. Going by the early trend, the film might become a hit at the box office, marking a hatrick for Pa Ranjith, after "Attakathi" and "Madras."
