Superstar Rajinikanth has requested his fans not to celebrate his upcoming birthday. The actor's birthday is on December 12.

Rajinikanth will not celebrate his birthday this year owing to the death of former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa. He has also asked his fans not to celebrate the same and not circulate banners.

Industry tracker Ramesh Bala took to Twitter and made the announcement on behalf of the Kabali actor. "Announcement: #Thalaivar @superstarrajini requests fans not to celebrate his birthday and avoid keeping banners & posters," he tweeted.

It has been reported that Rajinikanth decided to skip his birthday celebration owing to the demise of Jayalalithaa recently. He had cancelled his birthday celebration last year as well due to the torrential rains and devastation in Chennai.

Jayalalithaa had passed away on December 5, after she had suffered a cardiac arrest. She was admitted into Apollo Hospital a day before. The entire state of Tamil Nadu had mourned the death of the "iron lady."

Rajinikanth was last seen in the movie Kabali that became a blockbuster. He will soon appear on the silver screen with his big movie 2.0 that also features Akshay Kumar. The movie will be released on Diwali 2017.
