Sunny Leone takes up the 'Ice Bucket Challenge'Sunny Leone/ Twitter

The viral Ice Bucket Challenge has already picked up in Bollywood, and the latest to jump on the bandwagon is actress Sunny Leone.

In a video uploaded on her YouTube channel, the "Baby Doll" item girl took the names of her nominators (family and Twitter fans) and got drenched in a bucket of ice water poured by husband Daniel Webber.

Post completion of task, Leone nominated rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh for it. Singh, whose reality show "India's Raw Star" is set to go on air on 24 August 2014, hasn't responded to the challenge yet.

Leone, who handled the task well, jokingly wrote on Twitter, "The ice and water was insanely cold. I think @DanielWeber99 poured very very slow. Haha."

After Leone, completing the challenge with a twist were Rihanna and Eminem who got ice water poured on theem on stage during the final Monster Tour show. While British actor Benedict Cumberbatch's attempt at the challenge got stretched a bit as he was soaked quite a few times.

The 'Ice Bucket Challenge' is essentially an awareness campaign for a deadly and rare neurodegenerative disease – ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), which is also known as the Motor Neuron Disease (MND). English physicist Stephen Hawking has been battling with ALS for long and is now almost entirely paralysed.

However, the idea is to douse oneself in ice water, film it, post it on social media using hashtags (#icebucketchallenge, #alsicebucketchallenge, and #strikeoutals), and nominate friends, family or fans in order to spread awareness about ALS.

People selected will have to then finish the task within a day from being nominated. Those failing to pull it off, must donate $100 (₹6,044). As of 23 August 2014, the donations have reached a whopping $62.5 million.
