Shah Rukh Khan's "Raees" will release on Jan. 26, 2017, and not on Eid as planned earlier. Salman Khan believes the change of date has nothing to do with his equation with SRK.

"I don't think so. The film was not ready," he told BollywoodLife adding that two big films cannot release on the same day ("Raees" and "Sultan" were scheduled to clash this Eid).

"And I think two big films should not clash it's a loss of distributors and exhibitors. It's nothing to do with Shah Rukh, or me but it's the loss of distributors and exhibitors. We do not have so many theatres and screens to release two films together. Our industry is really not growing this way. We need more screens to have two big release on the same date," Salman further elaborated.

Both of the issues Salman pointed to hold true. Recently, Shah Rukh opened up about the date being pushed and said that he was injured the time he was shooting for the Rahul Dholakia directorial, which is why he believes the action scenes didn't turn out too well.

"Jab hum shoot kar rahe the, mujhko yaar chot lagi hui thi, saarifilm kuch 8-9 mahinedelay ho gayi. Phir humneaction kiya, butthode pieces phir bhi reh gaye. Humne kar liya woh sab kuch lekin mujhe aisa laga ki uss chot ki wajah se waisa nahi hua jaisa mei chahta tha. Lekin ab khatam ho chuki hain. Woh jaldbaazi mei, bhagam daud mei ho raha tha to hum sabnedecide kiya," the web portal quoted him as saying.

The team put out an official statement saying that they decided to release it in the coming year because all the holiday dates have been picked. What's strange is the revised release date will see a three-film clash.

Ajay Devgn's "Baadshaho" and Hrithik Roshan's "Kaabil" are releasing on Republic Day 2017. While Ajay's film hasn't begun yet and there hasn't been any update on it for a long time, Hrithik has wrapped up the first schedule of the film.
