"Kali" is the name of Sudeep and Shivaraj Kumar's forthcoming Kannada movie directed by Prem. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah unveiled the name of the flick on Sunday, 13 December.

The makers had arranged a grand function, which was attended by some of the big names of Sandalwood, at Hotel Lalit Ashoka. The Chief Minister of Karnataka was the special attraction at the event, which was also graced by a few other politicians like HD Kumaraswamy. Rockline Venkatesh and Munirathna.

The grand event was anchored by Navarasa Nayaka Jaggesh, who entertained the guests with his witty one-liners. Director Prem, who is known for creating a hype, had maintained good suspense about the title and it was not known to anyone, including the lead actor Sudeep and Shivaraj Kumar; they only came to know about it at the launch function.

It is a mega-budget movie bankrolled by CR Manohar. Other important details about the project have been kept under wraps. However, Prem has claimed that there will be two more big names in the cast and audience expect some big actress of India playing the female in the movie.

It is for the first time that Sudeep is working with Prem, who had earlier directed Shivaraj Kumar twice before, in "Jogi" and its sequel "Jogayya".

"Kali" is an action-thriller made reportedly with Rs 110 crore. It will hit the screens in 2017.
