Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has always had a controversial political career, and some videos doing the rounds on social media, suggest the same. Videos have come up that show a group of university students at Lucknow hurling anti-Yogi slogans, and even trying to attack the CM's convoy. As many as 11 students, including two women, were arrested in this regard, who have now been denied bail by a local court.

Having charged with causing riots, the local court on Friday rejected the students' bail application and has sent them to 11 days judicial custody. It has also been reported that eight among the 11 arrested students have already been suspended by the varsity authorities.

Self-proclaimed movie critic Kamaal R Khan, aka KRK, who also keeps tweeting about political issues, shared the videos on Twitter. The clips show a group of students, including women as well, blocking Yogi's convoy, following which armed security personnel of the chief minister charged at the protestors. The incident had happened on last Wednesday when Adityanath had visited Lucknow University to attend a function.

While the mob was shouting slogans against Yogi and his government, one person from the group jumped onto the bonnet of a convoy car. However, the security personnel were quick to respond and pushed the attacker away.

While Yogi's bodyguards pushed away the angry mob, the police personnel had arrested 11 of them. They were heard raising slogans like "Yogi sarkar murdabad" and "yogi sarkar ki tanasahi nehi chalegi". The students were reportedly protesting against the alleged increase in violence against minorities and women in the state, along with irregularities in the university functioning. Yogi becoming the chief minister of UP was followed by strong reactions. Earlier, he had been involved in many controversies for making anti-Muslim statements, and strongly preaching Hindutva ideologies. Also, Yogi's meat ban campaign in UP has been called as a sign of dictatorship in the state. Yogi becoming the CM of the state still disappoints many, but his popularity among the masses cannot be ignored.
