Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja's three-decade-long marriage has once again grabbed headlines amid their ongoing public feud. Sunita has repeatedly spoken about their strained relationship and has also accused Govinda of having an extra-marital affair.
The latest controversy began after Govinda was spotted at an airport with newcomer actress Komal Rani Swarnkar, who has been linked to the actor amid rumours of a relationship. The two are reportedly associated with the upcoming film Roopa.
Sunita took a dig at Govinda over his reported association with Komal, calling him a "sugar daddy". She also suggested that the actress should groom herself and dress properly, considering that her "sugar daddy" is so rich.
She further said, "Beti ki umar ki ladki lekar ghoom raha hai, shame on him (He is roaming with a girl of his daughter's age and he should be ashamed of himself)."
When shutterbugs asked Sunita about Govinda promoting Roopa with Komal, she reportedly said, "First of all, the movie should be made. Promotion happens after the movie is complete."
On Saturday, Govinda responded to Sunita's remarks and criticised her for allegedly using abusive language, particularly while referring to mothers and sisters.
In a video, the veteran actor addressed Sunita and said that she had recently been "using a lot of abuses over mother and sister" and asked her to stop.
"And yes, I would like to say again, that Sunita ji, you have started using a lot of abusive language especially on mother and sister," Govinda said.
He added that youngsters look up to public figures and may imitate their behaviour.
"Youngsters expect you to behave in a way that they will follow it. So, if people start abusing your mother and sister, then we will all be very embarrassed. Don't do this," Govinda said.
The actor further said that by repeatedly using abusive language, Sunita had made the words 'mother' and 'sister' cheap, referring to them as "sasta".
"This is not expected from you," he added.
Govinda also addressed Sunita's comments about his professional life and claimed that she had previously persuaded him to appear on her shows through their daughter Tina.

"I don't do the work that I get from outside. And what I am doing, you are interfering in it. And when you were doing your work, whether it was a food show or a lockdown, by telling Tina to ask me to appear in both the shows, you made me forget all these things. Anyway, that is your right," he said.
The actor then accused Sunita of trying to damage his reputation and business at a time when he had started working on a new film.
"And now that I have started this film, you are not leaving any chance for me to get out of people's hearts, to be defamed, or to lose my business," Govinda said.
He also spoke about the age difference between him and Komal, saying that several veteran actors in the country had worked with younger actresses and that such collaborations had helped them gain fame and respect.
"And they got a chance to work with young people. That's why this young man was seen. You don't want me to look like a young man. In your small expectations, you are busy harming a business," he said.
Govinda further urged Sunita to stop making statements about him on podcasts and other platforms.
"The group behind you, the gang, everyone is familiar with them. And I think that familiarity will come forward a lot. So it won't suit you either. And I think that in the future too, you will need me somewhere, at some point. So please don't give such statements. The podcasts that are being run and the insults that are being done, please stay within your limits. This is my request to you," he added.
Throughout the video, Govinda appeared calm but delivered a strongly worded response to his wife's recent remarks.
Sunita Ahuja was last seen in Lock Upp 2.
