The decision of "Star Wars" franchise to extent "The Force Awakens" trailer release has disappointed several fans. But they can expect a few surprises at San Diego Comic Con 2015, which will be held on Friday, 10 July, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.

Initial buzz indicated that followers of the epic space opera will be getting a detailed view of some of the major characters in the film, including Han Solo, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, The General and Maz Kanata at the International convention.

Although there are no official confirmation whether a new clip of the film will be unveiled at the International event, sources close to the project have revealed that there will be no visual update, according to Entertainment Weekly.

But the official website of Comic Con International states that a special look of the upcoming film will be provided at the convention, which will be attended by director JJ Abrams, writer Lawrence Kasdan as well as Lucasfilm president and producer Kathleen Kennedy.

Meanwhile, speculations suggest that several cast members, including Harrison Ford and Domhnall Gleeson, may also join the event to describe their characters in "The Force Awakens", stated Making Star Wars.

The website even claimed that fans of "Star Wars" could get to know more about the characters in the film, including Han Solo, The General, Maz Kanata and Snoke, along with a few surprises from John Williams, Kasdan, Abrams and Kennedy.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will hit the screens on 18 December.
