The eighth edition of the Renault Star Guild Awards was a star-studded affair with many celebrities walking down the red carpet dressed in their best.

The key attraction of the function was Bollywood superstar Salman Khan who hosted the show.

The 47-year-old actor, who did a splendid job at the podium as a host, said that he was nervous when the show was about to begin.

"Everybody gets nervous when you do something for the first time, even I am nervous," Salman told IANS."I just thought... let's try how does it feel to host (such functions). It is a very difficult thing, you have to remember many things, listen properly to others and not get carried away," he added.

Actresses Vidya Balan won the Best Actress Award for her performance in "Kahaani", while Ranbir Kapoor bagged the Best Actor Male award for his in "Barfi".

"Vicky Donor" and "Barfi" won seven awards each, including in the popular and technical category. "Barfi" also won the award for Best Movie.

The Awards saw a number of enthralling performances by several actors including Ayushmann Khurrana, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Jacqueline Fernandez ,Rhea Chakraborty, Saqib Saleem, Anushka Sharma, Abhishek Bachchan and Arjun Kapoor.

Other celebrities from tinsel town to attend the function were Sreedevi, Boney Kapoor, Karan Johar, Aditi Rao Hydari, Boman Irani, Huma Qureshi, Chunkey Pandey, Ekta Kapoor, Kriskha Lulla, Gauri Shinde, Balki and many others.
