The stage is set for President-elect Pranab Mukherjee, who will be sworn-in as the 13thPresident of India in a special ceremony at the Parliament on July 25, Wednesday.

Pranab will be sworn-in as the President of India in the presence of the Chairman of Rajya Sabha, the Prime Minister, the Chief Justice of India, Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Members of Council of Ministers, Governors, Chief Ministers, Heads of Diplomatic Missions, Members of Parliament and Principal Civil and Military Officers of the Government of India.

The ceremony will begin following the arrival of outgoing President Pratibha Patil and the President-elect Pranab at the Central Hall of the Parliament.

After the President-elect takes the oath of office in the Presence of the Chief Justice of India, a 21-Gun Salute will be fired.

Following the ceremony, Pranab will deliver a speech for the first time as the President. On the conclusion of the ceremony in the Central Hall, Pranab will be heading towards Rashtrapati Bhavan where an inter-services guard of honour will be given to him in the forecourt and where courtesies will be extended to the outgoing President.

Pranab won the President post by a huge margin by bagging a vote-value of 7,13,763 against his rival former Lok Sabha Speaker PA Sangma, who secured a vote-value of 3,97,776 in the 13th Presidential election that was held on July 19.
