The stage is set for the release of Dhanush's latest film "Thanga Magan". This film is going to be the biggest release in the actor's career in terms of screen count.

Trade reports say Dhanush has got bigger and better screens for its release. The screen count for "Thanga Magan" has already crossed 400 and it is expected to reach 450 in Tamil Nadu. From the rest of India, it is expected to release in around 180 screens and some 400 screens in overseas centres.

This is the first big movie to release after Chennai and Cuddalore were badly affected by heavy flooding due to rain recently. The situation is returning to normal and the makers are releasing the films at the right time as people are looking for some kind of entertainment, say traders.

The movie is a romantic-drama written and directed by cinematographer-turned-director Velraj, who had earlier directed "Velaiyilla Pattathari". The film has two good-looking actresses — Samantha and Amy Jackson — playing the female leads.

Ace filmmaker KS Ravikumar, Raadhika Sarathkumar, Sathish, Jayaprakash, MS Bhaskar and others are in the cast. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music, A Kumaran has handled the cinematography and MV Rajesh Kumar is the editor of the flick.

Advance Booking Gets Good Response

The advance booking for "Thanga Magan" has started, and is seeing good response. In Chennai and other metros, the tickets are selling like hotcakes. Given the response, it is easy to say the tickets for the first weekend might be completely sold out for the prime-time shows.

Meanwhile, despite being busy with the promotions of "Thanga Magan", Dhanush has managed to do his bit for the Chennai flood victims. With his team of volunteers, the actor has helped lots of trouble-hit people. He has also contributed utensils and medicines, and donated Rs 5 lakh for the victims' relief.
