SPYder teaser out: Can Mahesh Babu's promo video be next Baahubali of Tollywood?

The first teaser of Mahesh Babu's SPYder is out. The 1.14-minute video was unveiled by the makers on Thursday, June 1, to give a glimpse of the look of Tollywood's Prince in the film. [Watch the clip below]

A robotic spider, which appears to be a gadget commonly seen in James Bond movies, is seen crawling up on Mahesh Babu, who is working quietly on his computer. The teaser does not reveal much, but clearly indicates that the movie will be a serious spy thriller.

Harris Jayaraj's background score adds huge value to the teaser, which was supposed to be out on May 31. It was delayed following the death of Dasari Narayana Rao as a mark of respect to the legendary Telugu filmmaker.

Coming to the SPYder teaser, the video has got an overwhelming response from the Telugu audience. In less than 30 minutes, it garnered over one lakh hits on YouTube.

Now, Mahesh Babu's fans are curiously looking forward to see whether the teaser of SPYder will break the teaser record of Baahubali 2, which had taken the nation by storm. So far, the clip from the SS Rajamouli's film has received over 5.5 crore hits, with 6.6 lakh likes and over 52,000 dislikes for the YouTube video.

Mahesh Babu plays an undercover agent in SPYder, which is written and directed by AR Murugadoss. Rakul Preet Singh plays the female lead in the movie, which is simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu. But the teaser does not give a glimpse to her role and she is expected to be part of thet trailer, which will be out in the coming months.

SPYder, which is produced by NV Prasad and Tagore Madu, will hit the screens during Navaratri festival in September.
