New Delhi, Oct 14 (ANI): Sports ministry felicitated
medal winners of 17th Asian Games which were held in
Incheon. India won a total of 57 medals at the 17th
Asiad, which includes 11 gold, 10 silver and 36 bronze
and stood eighth in the overall medals tally. Sports
Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal, congratulated all
participants of the Asian Games and said it was a
proud moment for the country. Meanwhile, woman boxer,
MC Mary Kom, whose win provided India its first gold
medal in the ring at Incheon, thanked the ministry for
having faith in her. Captain of men's hockey team,
Sardar Singh, urged the ministry to keep providing
required assistance to sportspersons. Tennis star
Sania Mirza was also present along with wrestler
Bajrang and women’s hockey team.
