Jalandhar, May 24 (ANI): With 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil less than a month away, sports manufacturing houses in Punjab are flourishing as sport lovers throng the shops to buy football gear and apparels to support their respective teams. In Punjab’s Jalandhar city, brands like Nivia are manufacturing not just footballs but jerseys, shoes, souvenirs and women apparel to lure soccer crazy fans. The fans immerse themselves in football frenzy and scream their lungs out in support of their favourite teams. This time also, especially with the World Cup just around the corner, the football industry is expected to make a profit of 30 to 40 percent as compared to last year. Although football is not very popular in northern India, it definitely has a strong grip in West Bengal, Goa, Maharashtra and Mizoram.
