Indian smartphone firm Spice has launched a new Android budget smartphone in the subcontinent with a price tag of ₹6,499.

The new device, dubbed Smart Flo Mettle 5X, sports a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen with 480 x 854p resolution and runs on the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS. The device is powered by a 1.3GHz dual core processor and comes with 512MB of RAM. It packs 4GB of internal storage, which is expandable by up to 32 GB, with micorSD card and houses an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 1.3-megapixel front camera.

In terms of connectivity, the smartphone supports WIFI and Bluetooth, and comes with pre-installed apps, such as voice unlock, flip-to-mute and power saver app and BBM.

The smartphone will be available in the country through online retailer Homeshop 18.
