Sony water and dust-resistant smartphone Xperia ZR was launched on 13 May, now the rugged handset has set its foot on Indian market.

Popular online retailers Flipkart and Infibeam have listed the Sony Xperia ZR at their website for ₹29,990, but as of now, prospective buyers can only place pre-order as the sale is expected to begin next week.  

Xperia ZR sports a 4.6-inch TFT screen with HD 720x1280p resolutions having a pixel density of 319 ppi and runs on the Android mobile OS v4.1.2 Jelly Bean powered by 1.GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro qua-core processor with Adreno 320 graphics engine.

Sony Xperia ZR comes with IP55(Water-proof) and IP58(Dust-resistant) certifications; it can take 30 minutes of Full HD video under water for up to 5 feet, better compared to its bigger sibling, Xperia Z which can only take pictures under 3.3 feet of water.
