Japanese consumer electronics major, Sony on Monday accidentally listed the rumoured Xperia Z1s aka Xperia Z1 Mini international variant on its website, re-igniting speculations of a possible launch.

Soon after the report went viral, the company quickly pulled down the Xperia Z1s from the website. By the time the company realised the error, Xperia Blog had taken the screen shot of the page. [To view the screen shot, Click Here]

It is unclear whether the goof-up was intentional or not, but the episode brings back memories of Google accidently listing the Nexus 5 just days ahead of it launch, which sparked excitement among fans. So did Sony pull off a similar stunt? We'll know only once the Xperia Z1s makes its official debut.

In early October, Sony officially unveiled the region-specific Xperia Z1 f (SO-02f), a smaller variant of its flagship model Xperia Z1 in Japan. Rumours were rife that Sony would soon launch the international variant, but speculations soon died down. Now, after almost a month, Sony has once again breathed life to the rumours.

The listing of Xperia Z1s on the Sony website did not provide any details regarding the specifications as such, but the device expected to feature pretty much the same hardware as the Japanese variant.

Sony Xperia Z1 f (SO-02f) will be retailed exclusively by NTT Docomo and is slated to go on sale in Japan in December. The main attraction of the smartphone is that, despite its miniature size (4.3-inch), Xperia Z1f packs top-of-the-line hardware as seen inside the flagship model Xperia Z1.

Apart from water-resistant and dust-proof IP55/IP58 certifications, Xperia Z1 f packs 2.2GHZ snapdragon 800 series CPU, Adreno 330 graphic engine, 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory and 2,300 mAh battery and it also boasts an advanced 20.7-megapixel camera, which features Sony's exclusive patented technology - G-Lens, BIONZ image processor, Exmor RS sensor that are usually found in DSLR cameras.
