Sony Xperia XZ tipped to hit Indian stores next week

Xperia XZ is expected to be released in India by the end of September, one week before the release of Apple iPhone 7 series.

Sony's mobile division is reportedly planning to launch the company's flagship smartphone Xperia XZ in India soon.

Sony Xperia XZ originally made its debut at the global consumer electronics fair IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) 2016 last month. Now India Today, citing a company insider, has claimed that Sony might release the marquee phone as early as next week.

So far, Sony has not made any official comments on the company's phone release plans as such. But going by the recent price-cuts on Xperia X and Xperia Z Performance, we believe Sony might indeed roll-out Xperia XZ soon. If the phone does make its way to the stores before the end of this month, Sony will have a head start over rivals, as Apple is set to launch the iPhone 7 on October 7 ahead of the Indian festival season, which kicks off with Dussehra (aka Dasara) from October 11 and goes on till the end of the month, culminating on Diwali (aka Deepavali), October 30.

Even Samsung, which has delayed the release of Galaxy Note7 due battery issue, is expected to roll-out the flagship phablet in the first week of October.

The Xperia XZ sports a bigger 5.0-inch full HD screen and houses the powerful Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB/64GB storage and a 2,900mAh battery.

It also comes with top-of-the-line camera hardware on the back. Xperia XZ boasts a 23MP camera with 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS sensor, predictive hybrid auto focus, quick launch (less than 0.03 seconds), 5x clear image zoom, 24mm wide-angle G Lens F2.0 aperture and Pulse LED flash.

In the front, Xperia XZ houses an equally impressive 13MP snapper with 22mm wide-angle lens having f/2.0 aperture.
